I had some rust cut out. I fixed the door hinges by buying new ones, but also inserting stainless steel sheet clippings. The problem is not just worn out rods, but the holes gets worn out too. New felt strips on both sides of every window to help keep the rain out. Removed the front bumper and installed British type turn signal lights. Rewired under the hood a little bit after a fire (completely my fault). The Burman box was getting sloppy and rather than rebuild it, I installed a ZF box, which is also not prone to crack and split apart.
I learned how to do the string alignment at home from this video: Alignment Explained. Most alignment shops don't know how to align a car with a steering box. Alfa has instructions on how to do it, but nobody would listen, so I did myself. Eventually, I found an old school shop and he did a proper alignment, including a castor check.
